Terms of Service

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or subscribe to BarnOps. Minors age 13–17 may use the Service only if added as a user by a barn manager and with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. The barn manager is responsible for ensuring appropriate consent for minors in their barn. BarnOps is not directed to children under 13.

Manager accounts: Barn managers create the barn, set up programs, and invite other users. The manager is responsible for all activity under their barn, including the activity of users they invite.

Invited users: Staff, instructors, boarders, and other participants join via invite link from a barn manager. They may not self-register as these roles.

Account security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials. Notify us immediately at support@barnops.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

Accurate information: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account and to update it as needed.

Free trial: New barn managers receive a 14-day free trial with full access to all features. No credit card is required to start a trial.

Subscription: After the trial, continued use requires a paid subscription at the then-current rate (currently $99/month). Subscriptions are billed monthly.

Automatic renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew each month until cancelled. By providing payment information, you authorize BarnOps to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.

Cancellation: You may cancel anytime through your account settings or by contacting us. Access continues through the end of the current paid period. No prorated refunds are provided for partial periods.

Refund policy: Subscription fees are non-refundable. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing cycle.

Price changes: We may change pricing with 30 days' notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.

Failed payments: If payment fails, we may suspend access until payment is resolved. We will attempt to notify you by email.

Taxes: You are responsible for any applicable taxes on your subscription.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable law, regulation, or ordinance
• Infringe the intellectual property rights of others
• Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
• Harass, abuse, or threaten other users
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
• Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Service without our written consent
• Use the Service for any purpose other than managing equine operations
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without authorization

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

The Service captures GPS coordinates when users clock in and clock out. By using the time clock feature, you consent to the capture and storage of your GPS location at the time of those events. Location data is visible to barn managers for payroll and operational purposes.

Location is not collected continuously or in the background. You may disable location permissions on your device, which will prevent GPS capture on time entries.

Barn managers have visibility into all content within their barn, including care logs, time entries, GPS data, communications, chat messages, and announcements. This is a core operational feature of BarnOps.

Do not use BarnOps chat or messaging features to communicate information you intend to keep private from barn management. All in-app communications within a barn may be viewed by that barn's manager(s).

You retain ownership of the content you submit to BarnOps (horse records, care logs, documents, etc.). By submitting content, you grant BarnOps a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display that content solely to provide the Service to you.

You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of content you submit. Do not upload content that violates the rights of others or that you do not have the right to share.

When you delete content or terminate your account, we will delete your content from active systems within a reasonable time, subject to our data retention obligations.

BarnOps and its content, features, and functionality — including the software, design, logos, and trademarks — are owned by BarnOps, LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

The BarnOps name, logo, and all related marks are trademarks of BarnOps, LLC.

The Service integrates with or links to third-party services including Stripe (payments), Supabase (database), and HorseOps.com. Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. BarnOps is not responsible for the content or practices of third-party services.

HorseOps.com listing: Active BarnOps subscribers receive a free HorseOps.com listing as a benefit. This benefit is available while your BarnOps subscription is active and is subject to HorseOps.com's terms of service.

Apple/Google: If you use the BarnOps mobile app downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, Apple Inc. or Google LLC is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms with respect to the end-user license for the app. Apple and Google are not responsible for the Service or any claims related to it.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.

BarnOps is an operational management tool — not a substitute for professional veterinary, medical, legal, or financial advice. Always consult qualified professionals for matters involving animal health, legal obligations, and financial decisions.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, BARNOPS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, ANIMAL INJURY OR DEATH, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

IN NO EVENT SHALL BARNOPS'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) $100.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless BarnOps and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) content you submit; or (d) your violation of any rights of another party.

By you: You may terminate your account at any time by cancelling your subscription and contacting us to request account deletion.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or for any other reason with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

Effect of termination: Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including but not limited to Sections 10, 11, 12, 14, 15) shall survive.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which BarnOps is incorporated, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved by binding arbitration conducted by a recognized arbitration provider, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction for matters involving intellectual property.

You waive any right to bring claims as a class action or in a representative capacity.

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms in the app or by email. The "Effective Date" at the top reflects the most recent update. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
